Tyrus Raymond "Ty" Cobb (1886-1961) of the Detroit Tigers is talking shop with Joseph Jefferson "Shoeless Joe" Jackson (1888-1951) of the Cleveland Naps. Considered two of the greatest hitters in the history of the game, they are standing beside each other, both holding bats. The photo was created by Louis Van Oeyen in September 1913.
