This beautiful 1878 river scene shows barges and people on the shore of the Seine. The artist, French impressionist painter Paul Cezanne (1839-1906), painted this from the village of Bercy, a neighborhood in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France. In the background looms a bridge that crosses the Seine, the Pont de Bercy.
