The "perfect storm," as seen in this stunning Hubble Telescope photograph, is a frothy, turbulent sea of glowing gases: hydrogen, oxygen, and sulphur. The wave-like patterns of the gases are intensified by an assault of ultraviolet radiation from large, young stars. The image is about three light-years across. The blazing gases can be identified by color: sulphur glows red, hydrogen glows green, and oxygen glows blue.
