The Adam Forepaugh and Sells Brothers Circus was a major circus that entertained Americans from 1896 through 1911. The show was a major competitor of P.T. Barnum and Ringling Brothers. This promotional poster reads, at top, "Forepaugh & Sells Brothers Enormous Shows United, J.A. Bailey, W.W. Cole, Lewis Sells & Peter Sells: Equal Owners." At bottom, it reads, "The 7 Wild Wheel Wonders. The 7 Gaynells in furiously excited races between from 2 to 7 riders on an open fence track only 5 feet high and 20 feet diameter pitched at an acute angle of 70 degrees. Also marvelous tricks and fancy riding." Ca. 1902
