This portrait photo shows Hall of Fame pitcher Denton True "Cy" Young (1867-1955) wearing his Boston Americans baseball team uniform. Young played for 22 seasons with five different American Major League teams. Today, a Cy Young Award is given out each year to the best pitchers in Major League Baseball, an award established in 1956, the year after Young's death.
