The Battle of Cold Harbor took place about 10 miles northeast of Richmond, Virginia, from May 31 to June 12,1864. It was one of the last battles of Union Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's Overland Campaign. Thousands of Union soldiers were killed or wounded in this battle with Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's troops. This color lithograph was created ca. 1888.
