The Munger party, a group of park visitors, posed for this photograph while perched close to the edge of an overhang on the rim of Yellowstone's Grand Canyon. The canyon is a spectacular gorge, a 22-mile chasm cut as much as 1200 feet deep by the powerful coursing of the Yellowstone River. Photographed in 1901 by Elliot Hunter.
