Many of the cowboy's duties were performed out of the saddle and varied from day to day. This cowboy was photographed out in the open range, feeding a baby antelope that might otherwise have starved in this wintry landscape. A cowboy's work was never done. They herded cattle, repaired fences and buildings, and took care of the horses.
