"Still Life: Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers" was painted by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh in Arles, France, in August 1888. It is one in a series of sunflower paintings that brought him worldwide acclaim. The series was originally intended for wall decoration for his studio and he intended to paint 12. He painted four. This oil on canvas hangs in the permanent collection of The National Gallery in London.
