Known as "Uncle John Yancey," Yancey and his dog stand in front of his popular saloon. Yancey's Pleasant Valley operation catered to fishermen and park visitors coming to or from Cooke City. The facility included a hotel, mail station, barn and stock shed. Photographed in 1894 by F. Jay Haynes.
