The original engraving shows George Washington posed on horseback, with his hat in one hand and a sword in the other. It was titled, "Washington Receiving a Salute on the Field of Trenton." This hand-colored steel engraving was made by William Holt, after John Faed (1819-1902), a Scottish painter. Published ca. 1860.
