The title of this painting, "L'Absinthe," means "The Absinthe Drinker" or "Glass of Absinthe" in English. It was painted by Edgar Degas (1834-1917), a French artist who is best known for his paintings of ballet dancers. The original of "L'Absinthe" is part of the permanent collection of the Musee d'Orsay in Paris.
