The Tadpole Galaxy is a young spiral galaxy that has collided with a smaller galaxy. As a result of the collision, the forces of gravity pulled the galaxy's stars, gas, and dust together, forming the spectacular tail. The tail stretches more than 280,000 light-years. Look at the hundreds of blue stars and blue star clusters in the tail and its spiral arms! Scientists believe it will lose its tail as it gets older.
