This photo shows the 26th US president, Theodore Roosevelt, and an unidentified man on the horses they rode in on! The photo was taken during President Roosevelt's western tour. At the time of this photo, he was visiting the towering travertine rock called Liberty Cap, located in the Mammoth Hot Springs area of Yellowstone National Park. It rises about 45 feet. It was give its name by members of the 1871 Hayden Expedition, who thought it looked like the caps worn by the colonials during the Revolutionary War. This stereograph was taken ca. 1903.
