These visitors may have been splashed by the spray of the Yellowstone River as they watched it fall 308 feet from the upper brink of the Lower Falls into Yellowstone's Grand Canyon. This vantage point afforded a spectacular view of the gorge and does still today. Photographed in 1886 by F. Jay Haynes.
