Navajo artist William B. Franklin was born in Ganado, Arizona, on the Navajo reservation. Much of his youth was spent with his paternal grandmothers, herding sheep and observing their skill at weaving and silver work. Of this painting, he says, "A woman and man sing love songs in the evening under a full moon. The twins, buffalo, corn, and rainbow, are witness to these songs." Acrylics, 1987.
