This studio portrait shows a Navajo woman carrying her sleeping child, wrapped in a blanket, on her back. Navajo family responsibilities were traditionally split by gender, so care of the children and hogan traditionally fell to the women.
All images reproduced on embossed canvas mounted to either 3/16” or 1/2” Ultra Board.
