Born Martha Jane Cannary in 1844, this Wild Woman of the West is best known as "Calamity Jane." Calamity Jane preferred men's clothing; she donned buckskins and wore her slouch hat even with a dress. She drank excessively, cursed habitually, and frequently chewed tobacco.
